This Saturday, brothers of APX went to visit the company Sensitile. The company was the result of an M.Arch thesis project at U of M, and it was great to see the multiplicity of directions an architecture degree can take a person. It was a hands-on tour in which brothers were handed tiny flashlights to experiment with the refractions of light made through the different tile patterns.
The tiles are made through stacked acrylic with etched patterns along the side to create different refractions of light. One can only imagine how much acrylic they went through in the media center!
A huge thanks to Ramon Corpuz for setting us up with a great tour!
